Always interested in fashion and beauty, Charlene started buying Vogue magazines with her allowance, this inspired Charlene to enroll and graduate from Scientific Marvel at age 19 .

Having been in the beauty industry and practicing hair artistry for over 22 years now she feels such gratitude to still be passionate about her craft . Education has always been at the core of her career and she has been lucky enough to travel extensively for education in cities such as New York, Mexico, Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal.

Working with so many talented artists from all over the world has given Charlene an eclectic style of hair artistry. Enabling her to expose, enhance, transform, translate, inspire, tease, paint, snip, and feather the beauty that lies within the hair out into the world. 

Charlene’s truest passions lie in creating the most iconic shags, vibrant red heads & lived in blondes.

Ellen has always had a passion for hair, growing up and experimenting with her own hair as well as friends and family so it was a given this would become her full time career!

Joining the SJ team right out of school she went through the advanced training program with Samantha and James and has taken several training courses across Canada. She is devoted to her craft and is continuously learning new techniques and trends to give her clients the best experience possible.

With a keen eye for detail, Emilee is a hairstylist dedicated to designing a look that embraces every one of her clients unique personality & style. Her goal is to exceed every clients expectations, ensuring they leave her chair feeling confident & empowered.

Emilee’s journey in hairdressing began with an unwavering fascination for the transformative power of hair. From tailored cuts to seamlessly blending extensions, she thrives on the artistry of enhancing one’s natural beauty.

Emilee has done extensive training in a range of techniques including her favourites; hair extensions, barbering & dimensional highlights.

Alexandra (Al for short) is a creative soul who works through many different mediums.

Al has worked under various successful and talented mentors over her career. She completed a specialized 6 month course for hair design in Toronto in 2019 and has since brought her skillset back home and created her own niche here in Winnipeg. With many classes & countless hours of specialized training under her belt, she only wants to keep learning & bringing the joy of good hair to more people.

Al prides herself in creating a welcoming and stress free experience in her chair for folks of all walks of life. She has a passion for creating looks that work with your lifestyle and your natural hair. Her specialties include cutting hair of all textures, fun colour’s and giving self-affirming haircuts.

Julia has been passionate about hair since before she started colouring her Barbie’s hair with markers, so it was inevitable she would end up starting her career as a hairstylist. After graduating hairstyling at MITT, she found her place here at SJ.

She has had the unique opportunity to train underneath the Owners Samantha and James and master stylist Charlene. Learning from not one, but three stylists has expanded her knowledge of hair and she’s always looking to expand her skill set with the newest education.

Some of Julia’s favourite services are blowouts, barbering, getting creative with fashion colours and she can’t resist a rich, dimensional brunette.

Miranda has always been fascinated by hair styling. As a young girl, she was lucky enough to join her moms hair appointments. asking too many questions and taking mental notes. She loved styling her friends for school dances and clipping the newest magazine trends. Fast forward to now, you'll see her seeking out new trends & nerding out on the science of hair, scalp health & the ingredients found in your favourite products.

Having hairstylists in the family, Faith has been interested in hair from a very young age. Always playing with mannequin heads, she loved taking advantage of being creative and exposed to so much education at her age.

As she continues her schooling, she is excited to grow her education through assisting the SJ stylists.
